Today you will be learning about our solar system. By the end of the lesson you should be able to describe the planets and their relative distance from the sun. You will work in small groups to create a mini poster about each planet and the Sun. You will then share your research with the other groups. Your group is responsible for answer a short question sheet. Please refer the the checklist to make sure you have everything you need on your poster.

Today you will describe how day and night and the phases of the moon occur and describe how Earth’s axial tilt and its annual orbit around the sun cause the seasons.
Begin by going to BrainPop and watching the video "Seasons." Next you will watch "Moon," "Sun," "Gravity," and "Tides" complete questions.
Finally answer the prompts on the last page of your work to describe how day and night occurs, how the phases of the moon occur and why we have season.

After you have created flashcards you will then go to BrainPop and watch the following videos. You need to answer comprehension questions for each video. Watch the solar system video, moon video, then tides, then gravity.
Afterwards you will draw an illustration for the terms rotation and revolution.
